Costa Rica Nature Photography - March, 2004The Photo Tour was leaded by Marco Saborio - a professional photographer with Fototreks. Our first stop was Talamanca where we captured most of the bird pictures. The most famous bird I like was Resplendent Quetzal, the endangered spices. Second stop was Wilson Botanical Garden near the Panamanian border. There I dropped my Canon 10D mounted with the big zoom lens from the shoulder height. My heart stopped for a moment. I picked it up everything was still in working order except that a big dent was inflicted on the lens hood. That is why they always suggested at least one backup camera ! Final stop, Ballena Marine Park where we stayed at the La Cusinga Lodge. Beautiful place, facing the Pacific Ocean. Nice sunset scenery, plenty of Toucan birds to shoot (with camera), Pelican flew by every 15 minutes. If you ever go there, don't forget you flash light and plenty of battery, you are going to need it. You don't need an alarm clock there, Howling Monkey will give you a wake up call every morning if the birds didn't wake you up. Equipmet Used: Canon 10D DSLR 100-400mm IS zoom 17-35mm zoom 105mm macro |
